Taxpayers must report coverage, qualify for an exemption, or make an individual shared responsibility payment for 2018 tax year.  2018 Filing Year is the last year for the Shared Responsibility Payment for those not covered by Minimal Essential Coverage (MES) health insurance. The maximum payment remains at $695.

Affordable Care Act - Health Insurance Marketplace If you live in New York, the New York Heath Benefit Exchange is the Health Insurance Marketplace to serve you. Use this website to apply for coverage, compare plans and enroll. Visit the New York Health Benefit Exchange now to learn more or call 2-1-1 HELPLINE (dial 2-1-1 or 1-800-346-2211) for more local information.

If you live in Pennsylvania, you will use HealthCare.gov to apply for coverage, compare plans and enroll.  Learn more about the Marketplace and how you can get ready. 

For those with Marketplace insurance coverage you should receive form 1095-A Health Insurance Marketplace Statement would come if you are eligible for the Premium tax credit. This should be mailed to you by January 31, 2018. 

Some employers will be sending out form 1095-C  Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage this year.

If you purchased Health coverage on your own, you may receive this year a 1095-B Health Coverage form.

You should bring whatever health insurance forms you receive with you to your tax appointment.
