Federal HOME Program
Acquisition/Rehab/Sale
Arbor Housing and Development received funding from New York State Homes and Community Renewal to purchase, rehabilitate and sell ten houses in Steuben and Chemung Counties (exclusive of the City of Elmira). This program will initially focus on purchasing and rehabilitating houses in the Corning area. These houses will be sold to income-eligible families.
- Total household income must not exceed the limits listed below (see chart).
- Must complete homebuyer education and pre-purchase counseling provided by Arbor Housing and Development.
- Must have good credit and be able to obtain a mortgage.
- Must have a minimum of $1,500 - $2,000 to put toward the purchase of the home.
- Down payment and closing cost grants are available. Secured by a second lien on the home.
